Layers and a Pop of Color

15 Nov

Phoenix weather is BEYOND annoying right now…hot, cold, hot, cold, cloudy, hot, sunny, cold. What’s a girl to do?! Layer up. The shoes shown here will keep your outfit looking a bit dressier even after you’ve shed the jacket and then ditched the scarf. And when the clouds roll back in…well, you know what to do.

Cheap Basics and High End Splashes

24 Sep

(jeans, jacket, tshirt, shoes, watch)

The clothes here are pretty basic and – bonus – affordable without looking cheap. To add a touch of spice, I ask you to splurge with me. “Holy crap” is what you may be thinking, but there are three great things about these splurges: 1) You can’t go wrong with Tory Burch and Michael Kors in terms of quality 2) gold is classic and versatile 3) the shoes can probably found somewhere like Last Chance. When do I wear this look you ask? My answer: when don’t you?! Maybe it’s just me, but I like to rock this look shopping, brunching, casual Fridaying at work, etc.

A Royal Houndstooth

24 Sep

(skirt, jacket, shoes, ring)

Love this houndstooth skirt. I own the Target knock-off that I think may actually be a bit more amaze because of how much structure it has. The way this houndstooth is done it adds a lot of texture without the intensity of a traditional black and white hounds. Add your fave royal color under the jacket by way of a tucked in top and voila!

Hint of Military at Work

(shirt, shoes, necklace, crop pants)

Get to packin’!

22 Jul

(shirt, shoes, shorts, head wrap, watch)

Kate is up and moving to NYC and I am now a homeowner upgrading from my rental condo. Many a cardboard box in our near futures. Just because you may feel like a dusty and sweaty mess lugging boxes around, doesn’t mean you have to look a mess!

Vanessa’s First Day of Business Land Work

31 May

(Shirt, Skirt, Shoes, Watch, Notebooks)

This is what I will be wearing tomorrow on my first day of work! Even if you’re going to be shaking in your pumps a bit, you may as well look fierce to hide the nerves. The notebooks are essential because there are always a million and half new things to learn starting on day one.

Movie Inspiration: An Education

The Rundown: (Cropped Pants, Top, Cardigan, Bracelets, Shoes)

Aside from being an amazing movie, An Education provides a lot of fun for the eye. It is very interesting to see all of these trends from the 60’s making their way back into the here and now. Classic never dies!

Inspired by Glee: Mercedes

The Rundown: (Vest, Cargos, Shoes, Bangles, T-Shirt)

Mercedes is the epitome of multi-colored, eclectic style. While her style might be a little over-the-top for our taste, we really admire the bold statements she makes.

Inspired by Glee: Mr. Schuster

The Rundown: (Jeans, Shoes, Bag, Tie, Shirt, Sweater)

Mr. Schuster’s prep look is ultra-classic with splashes of print and color that add a pop. This outfit will have all the ladies in the lunchroom swooning.

Inspired by Glee: Rachel

The Rundown: (Skirt, Vest, T-Shirt, Shoes, Headband, Nail Polish)

Though Rachel sure is a talented vocalist, her fashion choices are sometimes questionable. To draw inspiration from her, we played on her school girl look and added the headband and shoes as the hint of quirk we needed to make the outfit Rachelesque.
