Interviews: “I want to look professional, but be me”

20 Feb

Lots of friends are putting in requests for interview outfits these days. Many of these requests have been followed up with long conversations about how suits make  people feel stuffy and really unlike themselves. While I personally love a well-cut, fem suit, I understand the importance of feeling like YOU when you are selling yourself. The above outfits take one dress and style it for interviews on both sides of the Mississippi. The belts are to be worn on the outside of the jackets so that your pop of a dress is really is peaking out. Many of my friends are interviewing for teaching positions so flats are appropriate for the model lessons that are part of the interviews. Adding a heel would obviously be an easy thing to do. Tights/hose are NOT a professional expectation in warm climates. Just make sure you shave and maybe invest in a little spray tan.
